Aspen Germany announces new project “Future Cities – A Transatlantic Townhall Project”
Building on the experiences with scenario workshops and strategic foresight processes in recent years, Aspen Germany is excited to announce the launch of a new project in its Transatlantic Program entitled „Future Cities – A Transatlantic Townhall Project.“ What should the city of the future look like? What role can transatlantic relations play in shaping it? How can we make the cities we live in more sustainable, inclusive, innovative, and resilient? Over the course of two years a diverse group of experts from Berlin, Los Angeles, and Atlanta will develop concrete future scenarios in their search for answers to these questions. Spot On
One year after the inauguration of U.S. President Joe Biden, it’s time to look back at his first year in office. In the latest edition of Aspen’s publication series SpotOn, Dr. Stormy-Annika Mildner, Executive Director of Aspen Germany, Marlies Murray and Bennet Nicolaisen, Program Assistants in the Institute’s Public and Transatlantic Programs, examine the successes and failures of the Biden administration. What has the Biden administration accomplished? Where did it fall short of its goals? It does not seem like Americans are entirely satisfied with President Biden. Since August 2021, approval ratings have been consistently below 50 percent, according to the FiveThirtyEight news agency. In mid-January 2022, they were only at 42.3 percent. In addition to analyzing the administration’s progress in various policy areas, such as immigration policy, environmental policy, and infrastructure, the authors of this publication also look ahead to the coming year in office. With the midterm elections in November looming, this promises to be a significant year for Joe Biden. http://dev1.lararehse.de/publications/
